We do things differently

Palliative Care Consulting Services

The United States spends more on health care than any other nation in the world yet comes in dead last in overall ranking with 10 other high-income countries.

Health insurance operates on a fee-for-service model and incentivizes more testing, more treatment, and more prescriptions, but more treatment does not mean better health care. The fee-for-service system has led to months to get an appointment, hours in waiting rooms, and mere minutes with a doctor.

Our country is facing a physician shortage, in part because of doctors leaving medicine because of burnout fueled by excessive bureaucracy, increased workload, decreased reimbursements, and emphasis on profits over patients.

Palliative Care Consult has been created based on the principles of The Ideal Medical Movement, a national trend where medical care is relationship-driven rather than production driven. An Ideal Medical Practice maximizes time spent with patients by minimizing overhead, staffing, and administrative costs. Our goal is to provide the best treatment based on your needs by being accessible, efficient, and accountable.

Creative in meeting your needs, transparency in pricing, and a health care experience around what you really need.

About Health Insurance

Palliative Care Consult does not contract with any health insurance companies and is considered to be an out of network provider.

Your health insurance plan may pay for some level of out-of-network treatment. Although we do not bill insurance we can provide you with the documentation (a “super bill”) that you need to submit a claim to your insurance.

  • Please check with your insurance carrier about out-of-network benefits. Most companies have forms for download on their websites.
  • You can still use your insurance for care outside of our office for x-rays, lab tests, specialty care and treatment.

Palliative Care Consult has opted out of Medicare because we are unable to deliver the quality health care you deserve under Medicare’s complex regulatory codes, required compliance with mandates enforced with financial penalties, and lack of transparency in the flow of tax payer dollars. Because we have opted out of Medicare you cannot submit a claim to or attempt reimbursement from Medicare.

When you need a doctor, your medical treatment should be determined by a doctor, not a third party from an insurance company who has not seen you face-to-face and may not have gone to medical school.
